The West Virginia Republican Party (which, you know, is all of about 10 people) officially has the stupidest and least democratic way of choosing who gets its presidential nominee of which I have ever heard.
Do they have a primary? No. A caucus maybe? Nope. They have a closed nominating CONVENTION. That's right, they invite a select number of WV republicans (some number less than the 10 total) to Charleston to pick the nominee for all 18 delegates convention-style. At least a nominee has to receive a majority to win all the delegates instead of the usual plurality.
In the first round of balloting, Romney held a dominate 41% of the vote and went into a run off with Huckabee. At this point, the McCain campaign contacted his supports to switch to Huckabee in order to deny Romney the victory. Classy action from the straight talk express that is.
So Huckabee wins a 52-47 victory of Mitt in the WV Republican convention, the stupidest way yet to chose a nominee.

It gets more stupid. This is only how they allocate most of their delegates. Republicans can still vote in a primary 3 months later to allocate the rest of their delegates.
