First predictions in a while

Sorry for the extended absence. So let me make up for it by extended analysis of the last 2 games this week.

First off, let me say, although not printed on the blog, I predicted both the Seahawks covering and the Jags winning.

NYG @ TB: This is a no brainer. Bucs are favored, and that is ABSURD. Its in caps so you can't miss is. The Giants should be favored and should win this game by double digits. That's right, this is an underdog who you should probably bet the alt low line on. I am sure at this point you are wondering how can I be so sure, well let me explain.

Eli finally looked good for a full game against the Pats. He made one poor throw, late, but thats it. From there he kicked ass and took names for a full 4 quarters. An Eli first. They ran well, they threw well, and after O'Hara, their center, went out their backup came in and looked just as good. Eli did well all day and it showed. The offense put up 35 points on the Pats, and I don't know about you but I'll take the Pats D over the Bucs D everyday.

The Giants D held the Pats O in check for 3 quarters. Thats pretty damn impressive. Not to mention the refs gave the Pats a free TD with a ridiculous penalty call on a 3rd down play where Brady was sacked and 7 more points came off of a miscommunication resulting in an uncovered Moss at the endzone. You mean to tell me the Bucs will have success? The Giants didn't even have anything to play for.

TB has basically taken a full 2 weeks off. Rust will show, and they never really looked good all year. Lets look at their record. They've beaten one playoff team. Thats right ONE. That team, the Skins, by 3 points. The Skins suck. They never should have made the playoffs, and as I predicted, it was a short lived stint. Every other playoff team beat them, they played many and usually by 2 scores or more. Not very encouraging for the Bucs outlook. As for being at home, the Giants are 7-1 on the road and have played far better in warm weather. Hardly makes that home field advantage look intimidating.

TEN @ SD: Well, SD wins, I know that. The Titans aren't their yet. They've been improving under Vince Young, but need another year or 2 before they are a contender. Meanwhile, the Chargers regained their form after a very shaky start and should pound the less than imposing Titans.

SD is at home, always a plus. They are also essentially injury free, unlike the battered Titans. Furthermore, these 2 teams met once already. In Tennessee, and the Chargers still won by 6 with LT running wild. It did take a 4th quarter comeback though and OT. So its not too enlightening. However, if conventional logic is used, that being the home team is worth 3 points over a neutral site, than thats a 6 points swing since the Chargers are at home. Add in the injuries and the fact the Chargers have just looked better and better all year I have to say they win by at least 7 and 14 is possible. The line is 9.5 though. Basically, don't bet on this.
