The Yankees are now a mere 4 games back of Boston and boy are we looking at one epic collapse. Not so long ago that lead was 13 games and more than 1 Sox fan was crowing about how the Yankees were finished and Boston couldn't be caught. I agreed the lead was large but pointed out it was only June and Boston has a glorious habit of being oh so good as the weather heats up and oh so bad as it cools down. Apparently this year they aren't waiting for the seasons first cold front but are instead wilting in the August heat.
Any fears I had about the prospects of the good old NYY have been laid to rest. Boston has no chance of holding off the Bronx Bombers now as August begins to fade into September. NY has always dominated when its meant the most while Boston has shriveled in the lime light. This year will be no different as the Yankees pick up yet another AL East crown en route to playing well into fall. Oh Boston, how you tease your poor fans yet again just to be crushed.
The real problem is Boston needs to clean up their act the way the Pats did by kicking out the uncaring morons like Manny who throw the ball into the crowd with 2 outs. Stand up guys are the way to go...like Randy Moss. Oh, wait, so the Pats gave up on the whole team work and sacrifice thing huh? Unfortunately for New England fans I guess football season will not bring the reprieve from the misery of baseball that it has for the past few years. Ah well, at least the Yankees will win another division crown
