The nations longest losing streak has ended. After losing 43 games in a row, Navy has defeated the Irish at home in what is shaping up to be one of, if not the worst, seasons in Irish football history. Notre Dame was coming off a bye week; Navy was coming off a loss to 1-AA Delaware.
Responsibility has to go to Charlie Weis for this lose. With 47 seconds left in the game and facing 4th and 8 on the Navy 22, Weis elected to go for it instead of kicking the game winning field goal.

Fun times!
So, what's the new longest losing streak?
I'm trying to figure it out. If anyone knows, please tell us.
Kentucky to Tennessee at 22 games straight.
